Present Island is an interactive, audiovisual interpretation of Vilém Flusser's metaphor of the subjective island of the present from his text „Flaschen“ Dinge und Undinge — Phänomenologische Skizzen. It addresses the metabolism of culture and nature, the emergence of history, the responsibility and the ability of the subject acting in a negatively entropic world, and how philosophical thinking can change the subject's point of view. The medium of a game in the exhibition context, provides an alternative, virtual experimental experience for Flusser's philosophical thought.
