Gender in UX Design
GENiUX is a digital tool and methodology kit that supplements existing UX processes with the important aspect of gender. It enables designers and leads to engage with the topic in a playful and easily accessible way.
Manifesto
We are here for those who want to move forward. Those who have innovation and individuality in their blood. Those who are willing to question old structures and are curious about new perspectives. For those whose demand is open-mindedness. Those who expect something from the world they shape and are crazy enough to expect more.
We know that the power to make a big impact lies in the small things. To make the world fairer. For this, we demand breaking down outdated structures. Reflecting on perspectives. Challenging prejudices. Adapting methods and confronting the power of the familiar. Together, we stand against stereotypes and one-sided viewpoints. Don't you have it? Yes, you do, we all have it.
Together for more diversity and against half-baked services! We demand a response to designs created by men for men, to stereotypical and sexist design. We scrutinize the blind spots that supposed innovations like Alexa, Siri, and your GPS bring with them. The misconception that technology is free from biases. Have you ever wondered why you can only command female voices?
Gender is an intersectional issue that can never be viewed solely as male/female & possibly diverse. We stand for a discrimination-free society at all levels. To achieve this, forms of discrimination such as racism, ableism, and classism must also be included in the reflection.
